How to choose an antiperspirant for sensitive skin

A ‘sensitive skin’ label can be a useful starting point, but the complete formula, fragrance, base and your own previous reactions should guide the decision.

Avoid obvious triggers

Do not apply antiperspirant immediately after shaving or to abrasions, redness or damp skin. Even a mild formula may sting if the directions are not followed.

Compare alcohol and fragrance

If you have reacted to products before, an alcohol-free and fragrance-free formula is a reasonable starting point. The absence of these ingredients, however, does not guarantee complete tolerance.

Start cautiously

Use the minimum amount and watch for a reaction. If marked stinging, swelling or persistent irritation occurs, stop using the product and seek professional advice.
